History

The community of AMIS APAX was founded in 2001 by Sister Donata Uwimanimpaye as an awnser of the 1994 genocide. The continuing trauma and social fragmentation in the communities and in the heart of the people should end and a generation that values peace and justice should be rased.

Through peace education incorporating the values ofhuman rights, justice, dignity and compassion..

That includes also open arms for people with mental or physical handicap.

The founding place was Janja where the self called Missionaries of peace of christ the king started with nearly nothing a primary school.

Later the school grew and today it includes also a nursery school and a division for special needed education with a physiotherapy.

Meanwhile the congrigation spread through whole Rwanda and includes nowdays 14 communities.
